Silentium currently at the Studio!
After a while of silence the band has retired to a studio in Central Finland. At this point the drums, the bass and most of the guitars have been recorded. Some of the vocals have been recorded as well, although Riina and Matti are due to return to the studio in July. The band has some major surprises reserved for their loyal fans, who have been more than patient in the wait for the new album. All the Silentians agree that the new material is the most impressive up to date! Prepare yourselves for a massive music experience. This fall, Silentium will be back, more powerful than ever!

Kärtsy Hatakka of Waltari to produce next Silentium album.
Recording sessions for the next album is booked and scheduled starting with choir (Jyväskylä Female Choir) and orchestral parts. The band's effort will be taped during the summer. The producer for the next album is the multitalented main man of Waltari, Kärtsy Hatakka. Sami Boman shares his thoughts:"I'm truly excited about the opportunity to work with Kärtsy. He's incredibly innovative and unbiasedd approach to music makes him second to none. He's able to recognize the bearing thoughts behind SILENTIUM's music, whether it's a fragile and delicate stream of sound and atmosphere, or an immense and downright brutal sound mass. We all admire and appreciate the commitment he affiliated this project with, the instant flow of ideas was a most pleasant surprise for us all. I can't wait to get to the actual studio work! The upcoming single is mastered and ready to be pressed. it was mastered by mika Jussila at the Finnvox and the result is amazing as usual. Silentium shall shoot a video of the title song and it shall be released with the single. Exact release date haven't been decided yet, though.

Silentium shall release the second single out from the album Seducia. The release date shall be at the end of April. The a-side of the single is Dead Silent, which has been reincarnated. This time some happy news. Riina and Jari have announced their engagement. They told this to rest of the band over the glass of wine during our stay in Germany. Hello everyone.
We came home from Romania last night and we truly must say the trip was amazing. We like to warmly thank everyone at the Artmania Foundation, but especially Codruta, Rodica, Mihaela, Razvan and Cristina. Thank you for giving us this opportunity. Without your help and care, we would have been totally screwed. And the same goes to everyone who helped us some way during our stay. Not to mention is not to forget.
We wanna thank the fellow bands we shared the stage with and hope to do it again some day.
We want to thank the media for giving us such a heartly and warm welcome. It would have been great to talk to you longer, but the time was limited. If you still have more to ask, don't hesitate to contact us.
And last but not least, we wanna thank every single one of the fans. You truly were great audience. It was a great joy to talk with the ones attending the "Meet and Greet". We're very sorry we couldn't play at the Stage Club Jam Session. Matti was in quite bad condition and his fever was rising. After he passed out to the floor, it was quite clear he can't get to the stage. A big thanks for the people who helped him in his time of need. Once again: we are sorry.

Here's the info I promised earlier about the Silentium's performance in Artmania Festival. The festival will be held in the beautiful Romanian city of Sibiu which will create a perfect atmosphere for the festival. Besides the live events, there will be other interesting events such as visual art exhibitions, film screenings, classic music performances, lectures and workshops. Silentium goes ringtone at the end of the August. The ring tone shall be some part of a song from a forthcoming CD. All the members of "Prophet of Silence" are preferred to get the ringtone during the June, and for free. So get listed to "PoS".

The new Star Wars movie is at the theaters and the recordings of the forthcoming Silentium record is done. During the session came clear the fact that after the whole member changes stuff, Silentium came out as a winner. Silentian sound has improved and is like never before. Mixing of the record shall begin in the next monday and we're all eager to hear what is coming out.

All right. It's going to be the studio time real soon. In the 2nd of May the recordings of the forthcoming CD shall begin. The album shoud me mixed at the end of the May and the mastering shall be a bit later. There will be some samples on this site after the mastering.

The Violin has been replaced by cello virtuoso Elias Kahila. Kahila´s own "cello rock" show remains as a his number one project. Kahila is operating with silentium atleast on the forthcoming album and on the 2005 gigs.

Silentium has signed a new record deal with Dynamic Arts Records. This deal is for two records and Silentium will hit the studio in the next May. "We have waited this day to come and are anxious to get to work with DAR", Silentium comments.

Allrighty then. Now Silentium are getting things roll again with the new bandmembers Riina Rinkinen (female vox) and Jari Ojala (drums and yes, he's the very same man they begun Silentium with...) and I have to admit, the sound is better than ever. It could take a while before we see them on stage, but don't be hasty, your patience shall be truly rewarded. Silentium is also rehearsing new material and songs to play.

Well, long time no news. Here are some at least yet those are not good. There'll be some major changes in the Silentian line-up. All together three member have decided to give-up.
It all started when Janne informed us about his departure. "The band hasn't evolved since the demo days and my motivation has burnt out.", he said. After that announcement Jani and Anna informed that after Janne's departure, it would take too much time to find a decent replace for him, so they've decided to leave also.
"For a short time we were on the edge of slaying the whole band, but after a few nights of sleep we saw things clearer again.", says Toni and continues: "Now we've found a replacments for Janne and Anna and are trying to get the things roll as soon as possible. Of course it'll take some time, but we'll do our best."
Because of this Silentium had to postpone small amount of gigs but there's no hesitation about doing those later. So don't worry fans, Silentium is not dead.

Due to unexpected conditions, we had to reconcider our situation concerning our new supposed-to-be female vocalist Maija Turunen and because of this, we were forced to give up the talented young singer. We are all very sorry for this. Maija is a great person, and reasons for this event are completely not depending on her. Maija has been replaced by Anna Ilveskoski, who has already sung choral parts on our latest recording: Sufferion - Hamartia of Prudence.

Here's some news for a long time. Recordings of a forthcoming Silentium CD "Sufferion: Hamartia of Prudence" is done and the mixing of the album is on. Mixing should be ready at Feb 20th and some samples should be expected soon after that. Recording session was amazing and T Holopainen as a producer, turned out to be excellent idea. The Man has brought so much to this whole session.
Mixing is done completely by Tuomo Valtonen and Tuomas Holopainen. The band hasn't heard the result yet but the atmosphere is eagerly awaiting. Mastering of the record should be later this spring and then we see how well those theatrical parts will carry. Until then we can only wait.

After Tiina moved to background, the leading part of Prudence in forthcoming album, shall be sang by Tanya a.k.a Ms W Lilith of Soulgrind. She and Janne have gotten to know each other and after Tiina's decision Janne asked her to sing. Tanya agreed and we are eager to hear her at work.

Tiina is taking time-out from Silentium for her personal reasons. "At the moment my life is at the point where I can't give 100% effort for Silentium. New material is so great, I see no point singing my parts poorly because I can't fully concentrate. This is not the complete departure and I'll sing some smaller parts in forthcoming album and the time will tell what shall happen. Things have started to roll and Silentium is heading to studio in Savonlinna at January 13th. And for the first time they're using the producer outside the band, Tuomas Holopainen. "I felt I needed some outsider's view for my songs and Tuomas crossed my mind. He's defenitely one of the greatests song writers in the scene, and he has also showed intrest towards our music. Now when Nightwish is at a break, he had time and passion for this project.", says Sami.

Janne will be helping Gloomy Grim in their European tour with Yearning and Misanthrope. He'll be sitting behind battery from October 18th to 28th and doing his best (wich is lot) for this tour. Naturally Silentium won't do any shows during the period and intense training will begin right after we've got Janne back to the North. So put away your fears, he's NOT leaving Silentium.

Silentium will be part of Dr.Julio Ángel Olivares Merino's book project about influence of vampirism, horror and the gothic on music. Other bands involved are Agathodaemon, Within Temptation and Abyssos. Dr.Merino is teacher of English and American Gothic Literature in the University of Jaén, Spain and he's also President of the Transylvanian Society of Dracula in Spain.
"In this study I will be analysing Silentium's music, lyrics, their atmosphere and message as a social discourse. I want to widespread their music and make it be understood, find the artistic logic and fantasy in motion that is talented within its veins of storm. Silentium will have large room in the study since I am really caught by their spell.", says Dr.Merino
